Until the end of this week, the issue with the venue of the fight for the title of absolute champion of the heavyweight division between the WBA / WBO / IBF title holder Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and Briton Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) should be resolved who owns the WBC title.
According to Fury’s American co-promoter, Bob Arum, the fight will take place either in Saudi Arabia or in the UK at Wembley. The first option is preferable, since the second option may cause difficulties in reconciling the division of income.
“Everyone agreed that if a real proposal comes from the Saudis, we will accept it. And if not, then the fight will take place at Wembley,” Arum said. The fighters have already agreed to fight. I spoke with Frank Warren: we are waiting for them (the Saudis) proposal before the end of this week, and I’m sure we’ll get it. Otherwise, the fight will take place at Wembley.”

“And then we have to talk about percentages, because Usyk wants 50/50,” Bob voices a new possible snag. “It (equal distribution of income) is not right if the fight is at Wembley because there will be 95,000 Brits in the stands and a lot of income from British PPV, so Tyson deserves a big share.”
“However, we will not get to this point if there are investors from Saudi Arabia in the case, because they make deals with each of the fighters,” the promoter emphasized. We were assured that they would make their offer this week. And although I will only believe it when I see it with my own eyes, there has never been a time in the past when they didn’t keep their word.”
