Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who is set to make his heavyweight debut against Cyril Gan in less than two months, will face the Frenchman without being the favorite in this fight.
At the moment, the odds for Gan to win are 1.645 (probability 60.78%), while the success of Jones is estimated at 2.25 (probability 44.44%).
Sportsbooks have released starting odds after UFC President Dana White announced the collapse of talks with Francis Ngannou and officially announced a title fight between Jones and Gan for the vacant belt that will headline UFC 285 in Las Vegas on March 4.
Last September, 32-year-old Cyril Gan got his career back on track after losing a unification bout against Francis Ngannou with a third-round knockout of Tai Tuivasa, while 35-year-old Jon Jones hasn’t fought since February 2020, when he successfully defended the UFC title in light heavyweight in a five-round confrontation with Dominick Reyes.
Note that in his entire career, the American was not a favorite only in the first two professional fights that he held in April 2008.
