Former UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo will make his professional boxing debut next month, multiple people close to the situation say.
The bout will take place on February 10 at the arena of the Nova Uniao team’s training center in Rio de Janeiro, however, the name of the opponent, weight category, and the number of scheduled rounds remain unknown.
Jose Aldo, 36, who has been with the UFC since 2011, notified the organization of his retirement in September and was released from his current contract, which left him to fight one fight. A month before, the legendary Brazilian entered the octagon for the last time, losing by unanimous decision to Merab Dvalishvili.
In December last year, plans to attract the Brazilian to participate in the Hardcore Boxing tournament, scheduled for March 18, were announced by the head of the Russian organization Anatoly Sulyanov, who estimated the probability of signing Jose Aldo at 99.9%.
