Regular WBA lightweight boxing champion, Gervonta Davis, completed his record with the 28th professional victory, finishing ahead of schedule with the previously undefeated Hector Luis Garcia, who holds the WBA super lightweight title.
The denouement of the competitive fight came at the end of the eighth round, when, 17 seconds before the signal for a break, the American shook the Dominican with a left hand, but did not have time to finish him off, however, during the break, Garcia complained to the cornermen about loss of vision and a headache, as a result of which the fight was stopped, and Davis won by technical knockout.
Later, Garcia regained his sight, but he was immediately sent to the hospital for an examination and missed the post-match press conference.
