British heavyweight Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) suffered two defeats in a row from Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, after which he did not dare to fight for the WBC title with compatriot Tyson Fury.
Many observers and fans were quick to write off the ex-unified world champion, but he
claimsthat will continue his career. And not for the sake of some passing fights: “I’m just dying of thirst to take the champion title again. This is the only thing that interests my heart and soul. I like that on the sidelines my name is constantly heard. This means that I will have the opportunity to return to the top. I have plenty to choose from.”
Joshua says he’s “ready to fight anyone” and promises to “make some big noise next year.” He is sure that “if you are consistent, keep yourself in shape”, then everything will work out for him.
Joshua is also looking for a new mentor. The legendary Roy Jones Jr. strongly suggests himself as a coach. He has already stated that Joshua cannot fight Wilder right now and announced plans to promote the Brit: “… and then we’ll go to Usyk or Fury.”
