If you suffer for a long time, in the end something may work out.
The rematch of the WBO light welterweight champion (up to 63.5 kg) of Scot Josh Taylor (19-0, 13 KOs) and Englishman Jack Catterall (25-1, 13 KOs) received a new date – for the third time .
Recall that at the end of February of the outgoing year, Taylor, at that time the owner of all four prestigious division titles, entered the ring against the WBO mandatory challenger Catterall and with great difficulty won a controversial victory on points by a separate decision of the judges. That fight took place on Josh’s territory in Glasgow.
The Scot has since lost the WBA, WBC and IBF titles that required him to fight his mandatory challengers, and refused to move up a category to deal with Catterall in a rematch.
The rematch was originally scheduled for November 26th. It didn’t work out – they rescheduled for February 4th. But the second attempt was also unsuccessful.
Now it is reported that the boxers have signed a contract for the fight on March 4. The meeting will again be held in Glasgow.
“Don’t overdo the turkey on the holidays, fat boy. See you in the new year, ”Jack has already addressed the champion.
And Taylor, meanwhile, explained why Catterall had nothing to hope for in a rematch.
