American mentor Robert Garcia does not hide the fact that he would like to continue cooperation with the former unified heavyweight champion Briton Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs).
Together they had only one fight – in August in Saudi Arabia they lost competitively in revenge to the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.

thinksthat “changing coaches like gloves is bad, first of all, for the fighter himself. After all, he’s just wasting his time. It takes a few months to get used to the mentor and the new team, and then it all starts again. Of course it’s up to him to decide. And I am grateful that he honestly wrote about plans to visit America and try to work with other specialists. I believe that there are many good coaches in the USA. The same Derrick James is an excellent specialist. But the problem is that they will have to start from scratch.”
Garcia believes that Joshua is “a unique athlete, born to win. After all, how else to explain the fact that he spent quite a bit of time as an amateur, but managed to become an Olympic champion. He is talented, he has incredible power. And all this will help him win in the future, if the right opponents are on the contrary.
Earlier, Garcia hinted that Joshua has serious problems with motivation – he trains when he wants. The mentor began to make excuses: “I didn’t say that Joshua had such problems. I said it happens. I meant it happens to all fighters. Well… It’s boxing… No, I didn’t say that Anthony had problems with motivation. He is training. He is a professional. He likes to be in shape. He plows even when he doesn’t have a training camp.”
Garcia also said that now any new coach Joshua will look good. Ex-rival Anthony urges not to write off Joshua, he will beat Wilder.
