KSI knows he’ll face Jake Paul at some point, but he’s not interested in doing it immediately.
In his next fight, KSI will face Bellator’s Dillon Danis in the main event of MF and DAZN: X Series 004, which takes place Jan. 14 at Wembley Arena in London. KSI spoke at Thursday’s press conference to promote the fight about his dark times and how boxing helped him get out. He also discussed how his career path will take him to a fight with Paul.
” I’m just a person who is driven by progress,” KSI stated. It gives me purpose and that is what I believe, it does for me. This is what gives me meaning. My purpose was lost and I lost my way. I felt very empty, whereas now I feel so fulfilled and so good about my life. I have found purpose and therapy has been a huge help.
“I think it’s going be fantastic. I think it’s going to be fantastic.”
Paul just won a unanimous win against Anderson Silva, a former UFC middleweight champion, earlier in the year. KSI has a victory over Logan Paul, the current WWE wrestler.
As both fighters continue to dominate the spotlight, it is expected that there will be a KSI vs. Paul fight. KSI thinks he will retire when the time comes.
” I could face Jake in the middle of next-year if that’s what you want,” KSI said. “I received an offer to [fight him],, but I declined, because this is too enjoyable for me. It was surprising to me that I would be so focused on just improving my skills. I think I’m on a level where I can just keep going and keep going, way further than I thought. I never thought I could [run] a 5K in less than 20 minutes, I breezed passed that. Now that’s nothing.
“To It’s sickening to know that I have the ability to go even further. It won’t end quickly because I know that Jake will be my opponent. I’ll have no interest or intrigue to do anything else boxing-wise.”
