Countryman British heavyweight Anthony Joshua would have preferred to fight Dillian Whyte over Tyson Fury, provided there were no titles on the line. He made such a confession in response to a direct relevant question from one of the fans in the stream from
GQ.
The former champion plans to return to the ring after a series of three defeats in four fights. The 33-year-old puncher is now on a break from his second loss to Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk in August, but “Body Snatcher” White is his most likely next opponent, according to his promoter.
In 2015, Joshua knocked out White in the 7th round, but before that he was shocked a couple of times.
Joshua’s comeback: date, arena, possible opponents
“That would be Dillian Whyte. South London, North London. Fury is good, but he’s a Manchester guy,” Joshua explained. “I think Dillian has more style in general, but he did get beat up a few times.”
White is desperate for a rematch, saying “revenge is better than any title, Joshua and I are like Ali Frazier.”
Fury’s resume is worse than Joshua’s – there is an opinion. American Watzlder’s manager doesn’t understand why Joshua fights White.
