WBC boss Mauricio Suleiman believes that the perfect moment has finally come to organize the first unification fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion in the era of four belts between Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and Briton Tyson Fury (33-0 -1, 24 KOs).

Suleiman suggests that it is possible to negotiate with the IBF – to make them “forget” for a while about their demand for the champion Usyk to conduct an immediate defense with the Croat Filip Hrgovic.

Usyk-Fury fight and why the IBF decision threatens the fight

“I think that right now is the very ideal moment to finally hold this fight,”
He speaks Suleiman. “Understand that mandatory defenses are a complex process. And every organization has its own rules. But you need to understand the historical importance of this duel. As for me, she is above all our rules. It is for this reason that the WBC fully supports this fight and hope that it will take place.

Last weekend in Britain, the WBC champion Fury held a voluntary defense – he confidently scored to the go-ahead of the referee gatekeeper-compatriot Derek Chisora. Then the owner of all the other belts in the Usyk division entered the ring. The fighters had a battle of looks, and Fury yelled at the Ukrainian – a video of the meeting face to face. There is a small problem: the Briton was injured and is awaiting surgery. Should Usyk fight be postponed?
