The unbeaten welterweight prospect (up to 66.7 kg) from Tajikistan Mekhrubon Sanginov (13-0-1, 10 KOs) miraculously survived after a bloody incident in his native Dushanbe that occurred back in the first half of October.
Sanginov had a street skirmish with unknown people – he was attacked with a face and inflicted two penetrating wounds in the region of the heart.
“In the evening in the city, the guys ran into visiting guests of our capital,” says Mekhrubon, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation in the United States. “I reprimanded them that they shouldn’t treat guests like that. Then all of a sudden these guys attacked me, one of them hit me twice with a knife.”
Doctors saved Sanginov. He underwent emergency surgery and was prescribed 2 to 4 months of rehabilitation under the supervision of specialists.
The boxer regrets that because of what happened, he will not be able to hold the next fight, scheduled for December in Orlando (USA). But he does not lose optimism:
“Every day, boxing fans write to me where I have disappeared. Therefore, I explain to my fans where I “disappeared”. I thank the Almighty that I survived, and I will still have time to acquire titles and everything else. ”
Mehrubon fought last July, knocking out Colombian Caner Gonzalez in the first round.
