At the end of the month, the former contender for the world heavyweight title Briton Dillian Whyte (28-3, 19 KOs) will return to the ring in a duel against unbeaten American Jermain Franklin (21-0, 14 KOs).
This will be White’s first appearance since April, when he lost a sixth-round knockout to WBC title holder compatriot Tyson Fury.
According to Dillian, he is not going to put up with this setback: “I want to return to the title race and at some point get a rematch with Fury.”

White attributed the delay to the comeback to an injury sustained during the decisive episode of the April fight:
“I missed a good hit. Well, this is boxing, you get it. I have fallen before and then got up. He hit me with a good punch and pushed me off, which caused me to get this fucking sprain in my foot and had to take a break from performances. That’s why I haven’t fought since then.”
At the same time, despite the shock of the blow and the injury, Dillian insists that the fight with Fury did not end according to the rules:
“The British Council did not follow their own rules because when you fall after the gong, they let you go to the corner for a doctor’s examination if you get up to the count of ten. But they didn’t, they just stopped the fight, which was a serious breach of protocol. In general, it is. This is boxing. It happens. I chose to move on.”
Meanwhile, Fury told how White shocked him with a confession during the fight – and how he knocked out a tooth.
