Undisputed super middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs) could face the winner of the November 26 meeting between 34-year-old John Ryder (31-5, 17 KOs) and tall 28-year-old Zach Parker (22- 0.16 KOs). The two Britons will play for the “interim” WBO title.

“The idea is that I will come back in May, see how I feel, and then have a rematch against Bivol in September. It’s the only thing I want right now for my career,” Canelo said.
Recall that the Mexican injured his wrist in the third fight against Gennady Golovkin, and underwent surgery. Therefore, a fight against guys of the level of Ryder or Parker is quite justified.

In addition to these Britons, Canelo has enough mandatory contenders – in the WBC (winner of the fight David Benavidez vs. Caleb Plant), WBA (David Morrel) and IBF (William Skull). But, given Saul’s wishes for the spring fight, it is unlikely to be one of them – they are either too strong / dangerous, or difficult to negotiate, or completely unknown.
The winner of the fight Ryder-Parker is the perfect option to “breathe”. Although a hefty Zack can fly in …
