Former unified heavyweight champion Briton Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) lost all belts in September 2021 in London (England) – lost to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk. The loser decided to change his coach, but the new specialist – American mentor Robert Garcia – did not help Joshua in revenge.
It’s no secret that the ex-champion is once again busy looking for a coach. The legendary Roy Jones Jr. dreams of working with him – allegedly they have even previously agreed to try to work together.
British boxing expert Adam Catterall

But no need to insist on their moving to Sheffield. You need to try something new. A change of scenery, training in America, spending time in California, sparring with the fighters there.”
Catterall is confident that this would benefit Joshua, because “there are fighters of diverse backgrounds. Starting with people from Cuban amateur boxing. I am sure he will not find better sparring anywhere. It seems to me that Joshua’s problem is that for a long time he tried to change his style – from a puncher to turn into a pure boxer. I think he looks best when he fights like a destruction machine. And I would solve the problem in this way – I would look for that mentor who will help to return all this. I would look for someone who will be able to return that Joshua, who was at the start of his professional career. And yes, I believe that he can become the same. I believe that he can become a three-time world champion. But he needs the right people in the corner.”
Meanwhile, ex-opponent Dillian White shared his thoughts on Joshua: “Weird. Now a good boy, then a gangsta. Spineless. Become either a rapper or a priest.” And the ex-champ himself foresees the inevitable fight with Deontay Wilder.
