Former unified heavyweight champion Briton Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) turned to Russian specialist Gennady Mashyanov, who is known for his work with one of the leaders P4P rating the owner of the WBA Super light heavyweight belt compatriot Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs).
Joshua attended a weekend boxing event in Abu Dhabi, UAE hosted by his promoter, Eddie Hearn (Matchroom Boxing). The big guy talked to Michelle Joy Phelps (Behind The Gloves) and noticed coach Bivola Mashyanov passing by.
“This is a really great coach,” Joshua turned to the mentor. – We are all used to paying attention only to the fighters. And while we forget about the coaches. And mentors are the brains of a boxer. Are you ready to train me?”
Joshua and Mashyanov shook hands, the boxer hugged his mentor – both began to pose for the cameras.
What do you think, how realistic is such a cooperation?
