The head of the Top Rank promotional company, Bob Arum, shared his plans to organize two megafights at once in lightweight (up to 61.2 kg).
First of all, the unfading 90-year-old functionary wants to bring together the current undisputed division champion from the United States, Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KOs) and the former champion in three categories, Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs), in one ring.
The second part of the big plan: the fight of the winner against the former featherweight and second featherweight champion American Shakur Stevenson (19-0, 9 KOs).
Recall that in order to clear the way for a possible fight with Haney, Lomachenko first needs to successfully box on October 29 against unbeaten American prospect Jemaine Ortiz (16-0-1, 8 KOs).
Haney has already coped with his task, at the end of last week he confidently won revenge on George Kambosos.
As for Shakur, he has already announced the transition to lightweight, but he has yet to make his official debut here.
Previously, Stevenson said he wants the Super Six at lightweight and “a lot of money,” while Lomachenko spoke out about fights with Devin and Shakur.
