Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, Australia. In the main event of the show, in a rematch for the title of absolute lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg), American Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KOs) and Australian George Kambosos (20-2, 10 KOs) met. As in June, the victory was celebrated by an American.
The applicant acted much more aggressively as expected. I tried not to linger at a long distance, worked a lot with the body, broke into the middle one, wanted to bring the signature left hook to the target. So far, a lot of clinches and small fouls.

Haney responded by investing in punches. Throwing dangerous left hooks, throwing twos, trying to land an overhand. Mini-machach in the 3rd round. Champion is much more efficient. The chaotic tactics of Kambosos does not work – a lot of fuss, little meaningful action.

So far, Kambosos has only one chance – if the referee suddenly gets tired of breeding boxers from clinches, he will fine Haney for constantly grabbing the opponent’s hands. The champion shot with a jab. The challenger is no longer so actively reducing the distance. And working with distant Haney is even more convenient.
After a clash of heads, both had cuts. Kambosos still puts pressure, rushes at the champion. He counters in response or works ahead of the curve. His punches are more accurate, but they lack power. The challenger has local success – the fans are delighted.

Championship Rounds. So far, everything looks like the judges will give Kamposos even fewer rounds than in the first fight. Spiritual and charismatic guy who was lucky to be at the right time in the right place.
Judges score: 119-109, 118-110 and 118-110.
Haney UD 12. It’s all fair.
