Mexican ex-champion in the super middleweight division (up to 76.2 kg), now a contender for the title in the light heavyweight category (up to 79.4 kg)
Gilberto Ramirez (44-0, 30 KOs) stated that with the transition to weight above, he feels much better, because he is not burdened with the need to kill himself with weight loss and limit himself to goodies.
“I didn’t feel strong enough, but now, at 79.4 kg, I feel just great,” states Ramirez. “I can eat at least meat, at least tacos. I really feel that I have power, and it’s very good. In general, to be honest, it was difficult not to eat tacos. And now I can eat whatever I want. In general, at 79.4 kg I feel comfortable.”
Recall that on November 5 in Abu Dhabi (UAE) Ramirez will meet with WBA Super world champion Russian Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs). With this fight, Gilberto expects to start the path to the realization of his main dream in boxing:
“I want to get all the belts, I want to be the pound-for-pound champion,” the Mexican voiced her.
Recently, Ramirez spoke about his advantage over Bivol and the words of Jones Jr.
