Canadian light heavyweight Artur Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs) will fight WBO mandatory challenger British slugger Anthony Yard (22-2, 21 KOs) on January 28.

This was stated by the promoter of the challenger Frank Warren (queensberry promotions). Apparently, the battle will take place on the territory of the Yard. The fighters were supposed to fight at the end of October, but the champion was injured in the process of preparation. Beterbiev’s three titles will be at stake – WBC, IBF and WBO.

According to Warren, “The Yard will first have an interim fight in a joint show with Zach Parker, and then go into a fight for three championships. The event will take place on January 28th. Yard hasn’t been in the ring for 12 months, so now he can use a little rust. The fight will take place in London.”

In June, Beterbiev effortlessly took the WBO title from American Joe Smith in unification, and Yarde took a convincing revenge from compatriot Lyndon Arthur.

The champion dreams of unification with the owner of the missing WBA Super title to the full collection, compatriot Dmitry Bivol, who is forced to play for Kyrgyzstan. Bivol says about this fight: Beterbiev will be harder than Canelo.
