British WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) started watching boxing and, based on what he saw, came to the conclusion that today his compatriot Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) is the second the strongest heavyweight in the world. After Fury himself, of course.
“I had a great day watching boxing and all the big fights and learning all the heavyweights,” Fury said, “and I have to say the big Joe Joyce is the second best heavyweight in the world after me. And who knows if he can beat me or not? I think one day we’ll find out.”
“I looked at all these prospects who are mandatory contenders for the world title, Zhang, Hrgovic and all the others. And I changed my mind – now I think that Joe Joyce is the second heavyweight. Who knows if he is number one? One day we will figure it out. But at the moment I’m running the show because I’m the world champion and he’s not.”

Recall that on September 24, Joyce won the “interim” WBO title by knocking out Fury’s friend Joseph Parker and thereby confirming the position of the mandatory contender for the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, who, in addition to the full WBO belt, also owns the WBA Super and IBF belts.
Meanwhile, Joyce stated that Joshua was lucky that Fury turned down the fight.
