Kazakh world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) suggested that the loss to Dmitry Bivol brought Mexican Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) back down to earth and made him realize that he too vulnerable.

Gennady discussed this topic a few days before the third entry into the ring against Alvarez, which is scheduled for September 17 in Las Vegas.

“We all saw how he behaved, what he talked about possible fights against Usyk, Makabu, heavyweights. Even now, he continues to say that he is ready to accept any challenge, that he is not afraid, – Golovkin notes. Maybe he just wants to save face. At the same time, we see how he said at a press conference that he did not take Dmitry Bivol and the fight with him seriously. In general, I think he came to the conclusion that this defeat, as it were, brought him back from heaven to earth. And as a result, it will change. He must have lost touch with reality and believed he was invincible.”
