On the eve of the fight, the Mexican shared his opinion about the opponent, and also talked about compatriot Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs), who lost to Bivol in May this year.

“The fight with Bivol is important to me because he now has everything that I need. It is for this reason that I prepare so diligently for the duel, –
He speaks Ramirez. I want to take everything from him. I want his belt, I want to become the undisputed world champion. I believe that I will achieve my goal. But first, I need to show my best performance, otherwise this guy won’t be beaten.”

Ramirez does not hide his respect for Bivol: “I consider him a great champion. And he has been reigning in the division for a long time. What do I like about it? He has great footwork and moves great.”

Earlier, Ramirez’s compatriot Canelo Alvarez made it clear that he would seek revenge with Bivol, but he would not want to fight with compatriots. Gilberto’s opinion: “I think that as a professional fighter you should fight the best of the best, and not look at their passport. Especially if you count on the status of a legend and pretend to go down in history. I think it’s wrong to deprive other fighters from Mexico of the opportunity.”

However, Ramirez is confident that “it doesn’t mean that Canelo is afraid of anyone out there. We Mexicans are not afraid of anyone. We enjoy fighting good opponents. Canelo has a great fight ahead of him with Gennady Golovkin. I hope Alvarez wins GGG on September 17th. Yes, with all my heart I am for a compatriot, I am for Mexico. I’ll do without a forecast. Moreover, they know each other well, as they have already crossed paths twice in the ring.”

Golovkin and Alvarez fought in 2017 and 2018: first tied the fight, then defeated Canelo minimally. The legendary compatriot is confident that Canelo will knock out Golovkin this time. In the meantime, the WBC showed a “drug addict” clawed belt for combat.
