The promoter of the former world heavyweight champion British Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) Eddie Hearn confirmed the information that they agreed to the proposed distribution of the prize fund of the fight against Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) in the ratio of 60 to 40 is not in my favor.
Thus, it remains to agree on a date, and so far there is no unity: Joshua wants December 17, while Fury insists on two other, earlier options.
“I took the challenge from Fury with a grain of salt,” admits Eddie. He retired two weeks ago. Ten days ago, he wanted to fight Chisora in December. Then he wanted to fight Usyk. Then he wanted to fight Joshua. I don’t really trust what he says. But of course you have to take it seriously if it’s serious. It remains to be seen if this is true or not.”
“In fact, we have already accepted the offer. But there’s still a lot of discussion to come,” Hearn said. “Now we are in the process, and all I can tell you at the moment is that we have accepted 60 to 40. And this is great news for everyone. I hope the negotiations take place. If they really want to fight, we are all for it. We originally planned for AJ to fight in December, so in March, and then something big against Fury, Wilder or White. But if it’s about being able to fight for a world title, the one we’ve always wanted, Joshua will do it.”
