American mentor Robert Garcia worked in the camp of British heavyweight Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs), but did not help him beat the unified world champion Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) in a rematch.

The coach returned to Los Angeles (USA), visited the PPV show Andy Ruiz vs Luis Ortiz (our signature story about the main event) and saw a lightweight on the undercard who could beat the undisputed American division champion Devin Haney (28-0, 15 KO). We are talking about the Mexican slugger Isaac Cruz (24-2-1, 17 KOs), who, while warming up for the heavyweights, severely knocked out his compatriot.

Fans love Pitbull Cruz
noticed Garcia. – And he is remembered for the fight with Gervonta “Tank” Davis. It seemed that the “Tank” would run over the “Pitbull”, but no such luck. Let him not win on the judges’ cards, but he won in the hearts of the fans – they just go crazy with his boxing. I think beating the Pitbull at lightweight is almost an impossible task. I think it needs some special fighter. And I don’t think that Haney will cope with this task, because he simply does not have enough striking power.

Garcia believes that “to contain Cruz, you need not just power, but some kind of crazy strength. And Haney doesn’t have it. Therefore, “Pitbull” can beat him. He fights like a street fighter. He takes a hit really well. He is very strong. And unrealistically aggressive. Let Haney outbox him in the opening rounds. But understand that outplaying an opponent 12 rounds is a very physically demanding task. It’s like fighting the ultimate Mike Tyson. The same style: unrealistic power, excellent handle, and aggression in the style of street fighting.

Garcia is sure that a rematch between Cruz and Davis is coming soon, because “professionals work in the RVS of Al Haymon. They work smart. They know that the first fight sold well. I think they made something like a million dollars in admission fees. And, as for me, revenge will collect 2-3 times more. The same goes for the number of paid broadcasts sold.”

So far, Haney is not thinking about Cruz. He has a rematch with George Kambosos ahead of him, and then, possibly, he will fight with Vasily Lomachenko, promoter Bob Arum announced such plans.

However, the expert has already stated that there will be no fight between Haney and Lomachenko. But the Ukrainian manager thinks differently: it will not be easy, but you need to take all the titles and fight Tank.
