WBA and IBF middleweight world champion (up to 72.6 kg) Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) sees no reason to look back, drawing inspiration or some knowledge from two previous fights against the Mexican Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs), who now owns all four of the prestigious super middleweight division titles (up to 76.2 kg).

Recall that on September 17 in Las Vegas, Golovkin and Alvarez will enter the ring for the third time. Their first fight took place in September 2017 and ended in a draw, and a rematch a year later went to Canelo by a majority decision.

“I view the third fight as a completely new story and do not draw motivation from the previous two fights,” said Golovkin. – I’m sure that he (Alvarez) will change a lot of things, because this fight will take place in a different weight category, his attitude will definitely change. So there will be a lot of surprises along the way.”

Gennady also stated that he does not need to be Bivol to beat Canelo.
