The fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion between Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and Briton Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) may take place on December 17 in Saudi Arabia. This is claimed
British media referring to the words of Prince Mohammad Abdulaziz, Minister of Sports of Saudi Arabia.

“We’re very interested in taking on the title of undisputed heavyweight champion,” he says. “And we would like to hold this event in Riyadh.”

According to the source, the date of December 17 was chosen for a reason, because on December 18 in neighboring Qatar the World Cup will end – the final match will take place. In Saudi Arabia, they want “the attention of the whole world these days to be riveted to the Middle East.”

The organizers understand that for such a fight they will have to fork out a lot. The source claims that the prize fund of the fight will be even larger than in the duel Usyk vs Joshua 2 – that is, more than 80 million USD.

Last weekend, the Ukrainian beat the Briton in a rematch, retained the WBA Super, IBF and WBO belts. For a complete collection, he lacks Fury’s WBC title.

Yesterday, Usyk’s promoter said: “Fury is next if …”, and the bookmakers named the favorite of this confrontation. The loser was also active: Joshua named the reason for Usyk’s defeat in the rematch.
