WBA officially denied their super light heavyweight champion (up to 79.4 kg) Russian Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs), who asked for a postponement of the fight with mandatory challenger Mexican Gilberto Ramirez (44-0, 30 KOs) in favor of a voluntary defense against Briton Joshua Buatsy (16-0, 13 KOs).

The organization promises to soon announce the date of the promotional auction, as the 30-day deadline for negotiations expired yesterday.

Now Bivol’s only option to avoid a fight with Ramirez is to relinquish the title.

Formerly promoter Eddie Hearn (Matchroom Boxing) promised: This winter we will definitely fight Beterbiev – Bivol.

Sensational super lightweight (up to 63.5 kg) from Spain Sandor Martin (40-2.1 3 KOs) informed the WBA about his refusal to participate in the eliminator fight against Briton Ohara Davis (24-2, 17 KOs).

The next available fighter in the WBA rankings to participate in the selection for the title of mandatory challenger is the Olympic medalist, world and Asian amateur champion Prospect Shahram Giyasov (13-0, 9 KOs) from Uzbekistan.

It is possible that the fighter will refuse to fight, because the last time he boxed in a higher category and even won the title.
