the day before
“Match TV” it became known that American Carlows Welch (21-2-1, 18 KOs) will become Gassiev’s opponent.

After losing to Oleksandr Usyk in the Super Series final for the undisputed 90.7kg division title, Gassiev was out for over two years and returned in October 2020 as a heavyweight, scoring Nuri Seferi in the first round.

In July 2021, Murat took down Michael Wallisch in four rounds and has continued to struggle with injuries ever since.

42-year-old Welch suffered both defeats at the dawn of his professional career, and now he is on a streak of 19 victories in a row. It is noteworthy that in his native States he had only three fights and since 2019 he has been performing mainly in Colombia.

At the end of January, it became known that Gassiev refused to fight with Hrgovic.
