September 17 at T Mobile Arena the third full-time fight between antagonists Saul Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) from Mexico and Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) from Kazakhstan will take place. They will fight for all the super middleweight titles that the Mexican won last year.

On the eve of the fight, former unified heavyweight champion Mexican-American Andy Ruiz Jr. (34-2, 22 KOs), who previously trained alongside Canelo with mentor Eddie Reynoso, shared an unexpected prediction.

“The fight will end in exactly the same way as the previous two fights – with the victory of Canelo, –
Ruiz said. Yes, he will beat him a third time. And in general, I don’t see who could beat Alvarez at 76.2 kg. Consider him undefeated at this weight.”

In fact, Canelo and Golovkin met in 2017-2018 in the middleweight limit. In the first fight, the judges helped the Mexican not to lose, counting a controversial draw, the second fight went to Alvarez with a minimal advantage.

Ruiz continues his thought: “I know Golovkin is good. Fans are confident that he will approach the fight in optimal shape. He is always collected, trains hard, he has power. Fans are speculating that Canelo could lose since he lost to Russian Dmitry Bivol in May. Many of them do not understand why he lost. They do not understand that the opponent was much larger. Canelo took a risk. As for me, this is not a defeat at all. Saul was just looking for something going into this fight. I searched but never found…”

Ruiz will also fight his next fight in September in the WBC eliminator against Cuban veteran Luis Ortiz. The other day he named the factor of victory in the Usyk-Joshua rematch, he wants a fight with the Ukrainian.
