43-year-old Cuban heavyweight, two-time world title contender Luis “King Kong” Ortiz (33-2, 28 KOs) is confident that his upcoming fight against former Mexican world champion Andy Ruiz (34-2, 22 KOs) will not last the entire 12-round distance.

He stated this at the last joint press conference of the boxers.

“I am very grateful that I returned to this position and will fight at the top level. I am grateful to Andy for agreeing to this fight, which I am looking forward to,” said Ortiz. We are preparing for the best Andy Ruiz and we know that he is not just an ordinary fighter. He is a former world champion, and it cannot be said that he was just lucky. I’m ready to face him and may the best man win.”

“Now my main goal is to win on September 4th. And then, after that, I’ll see who’s next. At the elite level, there are not so many options, the Cuban emphasized. – The upcoming fight will end in a knockout. I’m sure Andy thinks the same. It won’t last all 12 rounds.”

The Ruiz-Ortiz fight is scheduled for September 4 in Los Angeles (USA).
