“Near-pound” top fighters of the company Top Rank American Shakur Stevenson (18-0, 9 KOs) and Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) may face each other in early 2023. At a minimum, this is what the Olympic medalist, the conqueror of two weight categories and the current unified featherweight champion Stevenson, claims.

“We can definitely fight in the near future,”
an American talks. – After all, Lomachenko is a fighter with a name, and even from the top 10 “pound”. He deserves respect. I think we could organize a fight early next year. And now we compete in different weight categories. But he can come down to my weight and fight for my titles. It would be a big fight. And it seems to me that light weight is not his category. It seems to me that the second featherweight suits him much better, because we are about the same size with him.

Stevenson does not hide the fact that he is “100% confident in himself. Let them say that Lomachenko is an arrogant dude. But what do I care? I feel like I can beat anyone. So it doesn’t matter what it is. I’m ready to beat any dude on this planet. I feel like I can find a way to beat anyone.”

The other day Stevenson was spotted sparring with top heavyweight prospect American Jared Anderson. The young champion comments: “He is a very important part of my training camp, as he helps me box better under the most severe pressure. We sometimes spar, sometimes he holds my paws. We help each other become better and stronger. And we are trying to peep and add some of each other’s chips to our arsenal. It takes really special sparring to get stronger. And he is one of them.”

Previously, Stevenson said that Haney should fight Lomachenko, not Kambosos, and then even named a favorite. Last week, Mayweather defended Davis, touched Stevenson and Haney. The Absolute has already answered him.
