Following Russian light heavyweight champions Artur Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs) and Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs), who are forced to box under the flags of Canada and Kyrgyzstan due to sanctions, respectively, the WBA super lightweight contender (up to 63, 5 kg) Batyr Akhmedov (9-1, 8 KOs) will also “change citizenship” for a while.
According to
insiders, he will fight for the vacant belt of the organization with the Dominican Alberto Puello (20-0, 10 KOs) under the flag of Uzbekistan. It was in this country that the boxer was born, after which he moved to Crimea, played as an amateur for the Ukrainian national team, and then (since 2014) changed his citizenship to Turkish – he even represented this country on OI-2016 (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).
Akhmedov spent his professional career under the Russian flag. In 2019, he fought for the vacant WBA World belt, controversially losing to American Mario Barrios. Apparently, this is how the WBA pays tribute to the boxer.
The WBC champion in the minimum weight category (up to 47.6 kg) Panya Pradabsri (38-1, 23 KOs) from Thailand will defend his title in a fight with the Japanese Tsubasa Koura (15-2, 10 KOs) – the fight will take place on August 30 in Korat ( Thailand).
Koura has a cool scalp in his assets – in 2017 he beat the reigning world champion compatriot Masataka Taniguchi.
Talkative American lightweight (up to 61.2 kg) Ryan Garcia (22-0, 18 KOs) on the eve of the fight with ex-world champion Dominican Javier Fortuna (36-3-1, 25 KOs) worked on a heavy bag, surprising subscribers and colleagues around the ring with obvious technical errors, which (apparently) appeared due to fatigue.

The former unified heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg), American-Mexican Andy Ruiz Jr. (34-2, 22 KOs), who has not entered the ring for more than a year, works on his paws, still looks explosive and fast.

September 4 in Los Angeles (USA) he will fight with Cuban veteran Luis Ortiz (33-2, 28 KOs).
In June, the undercard of this show was made public. And he’s a little wild for PPV. Meanwhile, heavyweight Ortiz wants to “take the head off” Andy Ruiz.
