UFC Fight Night 178 co-main event

This weekend, UFC Fight Night 178, which will take place in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) at UFC APEX, will delight MMA fans with several fights that could easily get into a paid card. Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley will take on former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington in the main event, but that’s not the show’s only fight worth watching.

In the co-main event of the evening, renowned veteran welterweight Cerrone will look to finally break his losing streak by taking on Niko Price.

Having been in the UFC for almost 10 years, Cerrone has won three fights since 2017, having managed to lose 8 times during this time. Always active, “Cowboy” lost the last four fights. He lost to Tony Ferguson, Justin Gaethje and Conor McGregor by technical knockout, but Anthony Pettis in May at UFC 249 was content with a victory on points.

Price has lost 3 of his last 5 bouts, all three times by KO or TKO. He is returning after being defeated by Dr. Vicente Luca in the 3rd round at UFC 249.

Prediction for the fight

Cerrone professes a striking style of fighting, being a basic muay thai fighter. In addition, he has good ground skills, holding a black belt in BJJ.

Kickboxer Price also prefers to fight in the stand, being no less pronounced striker than his opponent. Cerrone has experience and grappling on his side, but his years in the cage have taken a toll on him. Cowboy doesn’t take a hit well and tends to move slowly into the fight, which can play a key role in this matchup. The pressure and punching power of Price can lead to the fact that Cerrone will once again be knocked out at the start of the fight.

Price wins by knockout in the 1st round
