The newly minted EBU European champion in lightweight (up to 61.2 kg) 37-year-old Frenchman Ivan Mendy (47-5-1, 22 KOs) will make his first title defense against Ukrainian Denis Berinchyk (16-0, 9 KOs). In any case, this is what some foreign media say, in particular
boxing scene.

According to them, the fight will take place in the city of Pont-Saint-Maxence in northern France on October 22.

In order to clarify, WMMAA turned directly to the promotion company K2 Promotions Ukraine, but they do not confirm this information at the moment.

Mendy won the vacant European title on April 30 this year, outboxing Italian Gianluca Ceglia at home. It was Ivan’s seventh consecutive victory.

Berinchik had an extreme fight in December last year in Brovary, Kyiv region, having interrupted the Russian Isa Chaniev in a bright 36-minute confrontation and defended the WBO International champion title for the sixth time.

Since the beginning of full-scale Russian aggression in Ukraine, Denis stood up to protect the country from the invaders.
