Joshua was going to “simplify” with Usyk – and so win

Heavyweight Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) from England, who tried to box last year against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs), but lost such a duel miserably, this time is going to “simplify” – and, apparently, to act artlessly-aggressively. At least he talked about something like that at the first press conference for their rematch.

The Briton stated that he “can be knocked down, but difficult to keep down.”

“I’m still on my way to becoming an absolute. And it was only a slight deviation from the course. I’m focused on the target that’s sitting over there,” he pointed to Usyk. “In that fight, he kicked my ass in a few rounds. Well, I had to accept this defeat like a man. I am someone who can admit when I’m wrong and hold my head high when I’m right. I take defeat like a man. When I win, I keep moving and thank everyone. When I lose, I endure it modestly.

According to Joshua, mistakes happen to everyone, and there is nothing to dwell on them.

“Things happen in life, but perseverance and consistency will always prevail,” Joshua reasoned in his pretentious style. I don’t like to complicate, because there is simplicity in genius. Sometimes, to put it simply, great things can be achieved. So I’m just going to simplify, move forward, and you’ll see for yourself soon.”

“God willing, I will perform well and become a three-time champion,” said Joshua.

Usyk was laconic.

The revenge will take place on August 20 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). Find out how much Usyk and Joshua will earn. The WBA, IBF and WBO world championship belts will be at stake.
