UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has revealed how he broke his arm while sparring with Justin Gaethje three weeks before his fight with Colby Covington.
“I broke my arm before the Colby fight. Three weeks before the fight. And all these three weeks I did not hit with my right hand. I started hitting only in the locker room before the fight itself. He broke his arm on Justin Gaethje’s head. In sparring. He and I are main sparring partners and big brother and little brother,” Usman said on Full Send Podcast.
On November 7, Usman defeated Covington via unanimous decision at UFC 268 to defend his welterweight belt for the fifth consecutive time.
