UFC 256 tournament bout

The seventh UFC tournament in a row will take place at the home mini-arena of the UFC Apex promotion in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA), behind closed doors. As usual, the UFC 256 PPV event leads the title fight.

An intriguing heavyweight bout between Dos Santos and Ghane kicks off the paid card event.

The career of former UFC heavyweight champion Dos Santos has been steadily declining. Before the fight with Francis Ngannou in June last year, he was on a series of three wins, but the Predator began the black streak of the Gypsy. Ngannou knocked out Dos Santos in 71 seconds, in the next two fights the Brazilian was stopped by blows in the second round by Curtis Blades and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

Ghana, by contrast, is only gaining momentum. The undefeated Frenchman spent half of his fights in the UFC. There were three. Rafael Pessoa and Don’Tail Mayes were choked out and Taner Boser passed on points. Ghane fought the last one a year ago, in 2020 Cyril was plagued by failures – as many as four fights broke down.

Prediction for the fight

Dos Santos has always been famous for his boxing and knockout punches and has always tried to avoid the ground. Ghane is also a more punchy fighter, he has excellent Muay Thai skills – he was a two-time French champion in this martial art in the past – and he feels good on the ground.

It is not known how Ghana will look against the background of such an experienced opponent as dos Santos, since there has not been close such opposition in his career. If dos Santos manages to avoid powerful hits from an opponent, then he can outbox Ghana in class or even knock him out.
