MMA legend Jose Aldo said after defeating American Rob Font at UFC Vegas 44 that he wants to fight for the title or have a contender fight with former bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw.
“My main goal is the title. Of course, I would like to get a title shot. If not, then TJ Dillashaw is free. So a title shot or a fight with Dillashaw,” Aldo said in an octagon interview after the win.
Aldo defeated Font by unanimous decision after five rounds. Now the Brazilian will take Font’s place in the ranking of the lightest division (while he is on the fourth line).
On account of the 35-year-old Aldo 31 wins and 7 losses. In the past, the fighter owned the UFC featherweight belt. In July 2020, in the fight for the bantamweight title, he lost by technical knockout to the Russian Petr Yan.
Now the UFC bantamweight champion is American Aljamain Sterling, and Yan holds the title of interim champion.
