UFC Fight Night 187 Tournament Match
After the massive UFC 259 event last Sunday this coming weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, the #1 promotion will present a relatively modest UFC Fight Night 187 event. UFC Fight Night 187 has no real big names on the card, but this does not mean that there will be no interesting fights at the tournament.
#9 UFC Featherweight Dan Ige was originally scheduled to fight Ryan Hall in the event, but Ryan Hall pulled out for undisclosed reasons and was replaced by Gavin Tucker.
Ige made his last appearance in the octagon in July 2020, losing by unanimous decision to Calvin Kattar. The loss ended Dan’s six win streak, which included wins against Kevin Aguilar, Mirsad Bektic and Edson Barboza.
Tucker is 4-1 in the UFC. The last time he fought was three months ago at UFC 256, where he beat Billy Quarantillo on the judges’ cards.
Prediction for the fight
Ige is a resilient fighter whose fights in the UFC often go the distance. In the stand, he does not stand out in any way, being a good grappler with a black belt in BJJ.
Tucker also has a similar belt and can also be considered a basic grappler. But at the same time, Tucker is a good kickboxer and has a powerful punch at his disposal.
It is likely that Ige will try to play to his strengths on the ground, while Tucker will try to outbid the opponent. We expect a competitive confrontation, which with a high degree of probability will go through all three rounds. Ige’s experience at a high level could be the deciding factor in this fight.
Ige win on points
The fight will take place on Sunday, March 14, approximately 04:30 Kyiv time.
