Haney: “Kombosos is kind of stoned”

Yesterday in Melbourne (Australia), the main participants in the upcoming fight for the title of absolute lightweight champion, Australian George Kambosos Jr. (20-0, 10 KOs) and American Devin Haney (27-0, 15 KOs), spoke at a press conference. The guest was angered that a local fighter came to the event without his WBC Franchise, WBA Super and IBF titles.

Haney was so turned on that he continued to procrastinate on this topic even after the show: “Did you also think that something was wrong with the dude? Some stubborn, not in himself. I don’t even know how to describe it better. I don’t know why he didn’t bring the belts to the press, but let him know that I will take them from him anyway. I will beat Kambosos and become an absolute. To be honest, I don’t take it seriously. I see that he is fucking pushing in an attempt to portray himself as such a cool Macho Man. But only in the ring will he realize that all this is complete bullshit. Until the end of the fight, all his fans will be mine.”

Kambosos, it turns out,
also strained Haney’s statement that he allegedly plays to the audience and has already slightly overdone it: “This is not a game. All these dudes think I’m playing. But I say what I feel. I say this sincerely, from the bottom of my heart. I know titles don’t make me who I am. I was born this way, always ready for war. Haney’s title? It’s the same title as Gervonta Davis – not a real, regular title. The super champion of the world is me and only me. Beat all these dudes one by one. And Devin is number one on the list.”

Rumor has it that Lomachenko is next after Haney. Says the promoter of Kambosos. And here’s the boss Matchroom Boxing Eddie Hearn shared his prediction for the Kambosos vs Haney fight. We did not agree with him – here is our vision of the upcoming event.

Fight Kambosos vs Haney will take place on June 5 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne (Australia).
