Russian middleweight Alexander Shlemenko announced his intention to fight Vladimir Mineev next fall, despite the announced fight against Magomed Ismailov, which will take place in the summer, in July, at one of the RCC tournaments in Yekaterinburg.
“It’s not that I can have three top fights next year, but I can win them,” Shlemenko said in an interview with SE after the announcement of the fight with Ismailov. “Not really, so I’m getting ready. That’s all”.
“And here, you know, you see, the RCC league, after that interview with Khabib and Kamil, also fussed a little and made such an announcement so as not to stand on the side and show it. But it’s actually pretty cool. At a minimum, next year we will have three bombing confrontations with my participation, which can overshadow their views, interest, and so on, well, probably, any UFC event next year. Well, either be on a par with them. I like that this is how MMA develops, and it develops with my participation.
First, Shlemenko will fight for the EFC league belt at the end of March against champion Faridun Odilov. The fight against reigning AMC Fight Nights middleweight champion Vladimir Mineev could take place in September at the joint EFC and AMC Fight Nights tournament in memory of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.
