24-year-old heavyweight Daniel Dubois (17-1, 16 KOs) hasn’t boxed since last August. On June 11, when he enters the ring of Casino Miami Jai Alai in Florida for the fight for the title of “regular” WBA champion against American Trevor Bryan (22-0, 15 KOs), the Briton is going to aggressively tear down the 32-year-old opponent.
“It’s time to! I patiently waited for this moment, – the former “interim” WBA champion rubs his hands. “It was disappointing, so I’m glad I finally got to it. I will definitely trample on him with controlled aggression. It works. I want to go out and put on a boxing show and make a name for myself.”
Dubois insists that he is now much wiser and more seasoned than in 2020, when he suffered an early defeat against Joe Joyce.
Don King: “I love Frank Warren”
“I’m getting older, and age brings maturity and experience,” says Daniel. You just need to learn from your mistakes. Now I have all the experience needed to be successful. So you have to go out there, apply it, be yourself and endure it.”
The fight will take place as part of the card “For Freedom and Independence of Ukraine”.
Recall that the real champion of the WBA (as well as IBF / WBO) in the division is Oleksandr Usyk. All other variants of “champions” are, in fact, his contenders. Except WBC champion Tyson Fury. Yesterday, by the way, an interview with Oleksandr Krasyuk was published about Usyk’s scandalous statements, which the people allegedly misunderstood.
