On September 17, the United States will host the third fight between Mexican Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) and Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs). The trilogy was officially announced today.

At the moment, the exact location of the fight is not reported, but we note that the first and second fights took place at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas.

At the same time, it is already known that in the USA and Canada the event will be broadcast on the DAZN PPV pay-per-view system, and in the “rest of the world” it will be shown by DAZN.

“I am very happy and proud that I can give the fans the best fights, and the upcoming fight will not be an exception,” said Canelo.

“I hope to see you on September 17,” Golovkin said modestly.

Recall that in September 2017, Alvarez and Golovkin boxed in a draw, and a revenge a year later ended in victory for the Mexican on points.

This year, both have already fought one fight each: in April, Gennady unified the WBA and IBF middleweight titles (up to 72.6 kg), stopping Ryota Murata in Japan, while Canelo lost on points to Dmitry Bivol in May, but at the same time retained the title of the absolute champion in the super-middle category (up to 76.2 kg), as he rose to the division to the opponent.

We add that the third fight Alvarez-Golovkin will be held in weight up to 76.2 kg.
