The rematch for the title of absolute champion of the first middleweight (up to 69.9 kg) between American Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) and Argentine Brian Castaño (17-1-2, 12 KOs) became the most successful boxing event for the Showtime network over the past three years.

According to Nielsen Media Research, the flashy fight had an average audience of 756,000 viewers and peaked at 832,000.

This is the best result since May 2019, when Deontay Wilder and Dominic Breazeale’s short bout averaged 795,000 and peaked at 886,000.

It is worth noting that the numbers of views of the rematch were far ahead of those of the first Charlo-Castaño fight. Then the average audience was 422,000 with a peak of 536,000.

Recall that last weekend Charlo knocked out Castaño in the 10th round and unified the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF titles. And this place in the “pound” is not occupied? – WMMAA report about this event.
