If Canelo chooses Golovkin: Hearn named three options for Bivol for the fall

British promoter Eddie Hearn would prefer that in September the Mexican Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) entered the ring for the third time against the Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs), and after that he held a rematch with Russian Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs), whom he lost on May 8.

However, Eddie emphasized that the final decision will be made by Alvarez, and whatever it turns out to be, it will be a huge event.

“I’m a little biased because I really want to see the Canelo-Golovkin trilogy. Moreover, I think now it has gained even more intrigue, since Canelo was defeated,” says Hearn. “But I would also like to see a rematch with Bivol. We don’t make decisions, but if Alvarez asked me for my opinion, I would probably choose a trilogy with Golovkin, and then a rematch with Bivol.”

“In that case, we would have given Bivol a big fight in September or October against Callum Smith, Gilberto Ramirez or the winner of the Buatsi-Richards fight,” continues the promoter. – However, the rematch (with Bivol) is a mega fight. Basically, the two biggest fights in boxing right now are Canelo vs. Golovkin and Canelo vs. Bivol.”

But Andre Ward believes that Canelo should get a rematch with Bivol, Golovkin is not needed.
