Holmes held the WBC heavyweight title from 1978 to 1983, defeating a wasted Muhammad Ali in 1980. He is fiercely adamant that in his era, the current tops would have been easily killed. But now, he says, Joshua would have knocked out peak Tyson.

But in terms of WBC champion Tyson Fury, 72-year-old Holmes jokes that there should be a “size limit” on such hefty heavyweights.
