It is Marvin Vettori or Bust for Paulo Costa in the UFC.
The one-time contender for middleweight, having lost to Vettori and Israel Adesanya in the Octagon, is left with only one fight on his UFC contract. He doesn’t want to resign before the end of his current agreement.
For Costa’s next assignment, which he guarantees it’s taking place at 185 pounds despite a weight debacle in 2021, he wants Vettori to be standing across the cage.
” I just said to [UFC President] Dana White,” Costa explained to Ag. Fight. I’ll be fighting him right now. This is the only battle that interest me. I don’t care about anyone else. Unless if it’s for the title, but I’m no fool. I’m not stupid to consider [a title fight] now. I want to fight him. I only see him as a viable option. If it’s not him, I’m not even interested in fighting. Dana White was informed that .”
Costa stated that his manager Wallid Ismail reached out to UFC president to let him know of his decision. Ismail told MMA Fighting Tuesday that there was no news on the matter.
“Borrachinha “Want to fight again April” and said, “If it’s Vettori, there are no other UFC fighters that interest me .”
“I don’t respect him,” Costa said of Vettori. “I want to end his life. He is an idiot and a fool. He had this win over me and thinks he’s the man, but he’s an a**hole, a child. He’s an idiot, and he doesn’t know how to wear his shorts correctly. He still believes he is the man, even though he has a picture of himself with his pants backward. But I’ll fight him again. I’m referring to .”

“I don’t think I would like to fight Vettori, but he has taken my place in the rankings,” he said. “It’s not about that. It’s because he’s an a**hole. He must be stopped. This loss must be erased. I want to leave him sidelined for at least a year after the beating I give him. He is my enemy. I’m angry.”
Costa doesn’t mind resigning with UFC in future but would like to first explore market, which could include boxing.
“Boxing is more expensive in the short-term, but it doesn’t have as much promotion power as the UFC,” Costa said. He pointed out that UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who’s also in contract dispute with the company over money, is worth “at least 20 times more” than his disclosed purse for the recent title unification bout with Ciryl Gane.
“UFC is too expensive but it has a lot of promotional power,” Ngannou said. Ngannou’s strategy is to combine the best of both sides, and get the most out of each. Ngannou is the UFC Champion, earning a poor purse. Now that he has the upper hand, he will do the right thing and pursue the financial side of the UFC .”
