Canadian-based 33-year-old Russian heavyweight prospect Arslanbek Makhmudov (14-0, 14 KOs) will defend his NABF North American title in the main event on September 16 in Montreal.

The day before, it was announced that Makhmudov’s opponent would be the ex-contender for the world title from Cameroon, Carlos Takam (39-6-1, 28 KOs).

This will be Arslanbek’s second performance this year. In February, he maintained a 100-prover stoppage record against another ex-contender, Poland’s Mariusz Wach, by knocking him out in the 6th round.

At the moment, Makhmudov is ranked 6th in the WBC and WBA ratings.

41-year-old Takam claimed the world championship in October 2017 and suffered an early defeat (TKO 10) from Briton Anthony Joshua.

The upcoming fight will be the first for Carlos since July 2021, when he was stopped in the 6th round by Joe Joyce.
