Russian featherweight Zubaira Tukhugov, who lost weight for the fight against Lucas Almeida at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi, will continue his career in the lightweight category.
“Today my body let me down, I was in good shape and charged for the fight,” Tukhugov wrote on the social network. “I did everything I could to make weight, but something went wrong – today was not my day”

Earlier, Khabib Nurmagomedov said that the decision to remove Tukhugov from the fight was made after the fighter lost consciousness during the final stage of the weight cut.

31-year-old Zubaira Tukhugov has been playing in the UFC since 2014, and during this time he has fought eight fights in the organization, winning five, suffering two losses, and one more fight with his participation ended in a draw.
The last time a Russian fighter entered the octagon was in October last year, defeating Ricardo Ramos by unanimous decision.
