Derrick Lewis – Ty Tuivasa. Forecast and announcement for the fight

UFC 271 tournament bout

The fight will take place on February 13 in Houston (Texas, USA) at the Toyota Center arena and will become a co-main event of the UFC 271 PPV tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 06:30 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.

In the co-main event, heavyweight ranked 3rd Derrick Lewis (26-8, 1 NC) will share the octagon with 11th ranked Ty Tuivasa (12-3).

Lewis, after finishing him in the 3rd round with Cyril Gun for the UFC interim title last August, was back on the winning track when he knocked out fellow puncher Chris Dokos in the 1st round in December. It was Lewis’ 13th knockout win in the UFC, a record for the promotion.

Former professional kickboxer Tuivas, after losing three fights in a row – to Junior dos Santos, Blagoy Ivanov and Sergey Spivak – gave a series of four knockout victories. “Bam Bam” finished in the first round of Stefan Struve, Harry Hunsaker and Greg Hardy. And in December at UFC 269, Tuivas was stopped by Augusto Sakai early in the second round.

Prediction for the fight

There are two true knockouts in the octagon. It is unlikely that one of them will climb to fight, so the fight will most likely take place in a standing position and, given the heavy hands of each of the heavyweights, there is every chance of seeing a knockout.

Tuivasa can be very dangerous at the start of the fight, while Lewis doesn’t have good cardio either, but the Black Beast is very experienced and holds a punch well. He can wait for his chance to use his good timing with deadly power and one-hit the opponent to end the fight.

Lewis wins by knockout in the 2nd round
